(1894 - 1993) Bela de Tirefort was born in Eastern Europe and painted mostly in New York City. Bela de Tirefort painted famous areas surrounding Central Park, Broadway, Washington Square, the Flatiron Building, and New York City waterways. His most popular works are the snow scenes that show the natural and architectural areas of the city during the Great Depression and the Second World War. Of special note is that he mostly sold his paintings right at Washington Square. Bela de Tirefort earlier works from the 1930's to the early 1950's are the most desirable, portraying a historical account of the city.
(February 23, 1883 – April 25, 1962) was an American artist who became famous for his paintings of New York City's snowy streets, landmarks, and towering skyscrapers during winter. He became one of the youngest members of the Old Lyme Art Colony of Old Lyme, Connecticut, and painted alongside his father, Carleton, Childe Hassam, and Frank Vincent DuMond. Wiggins taught art in New York and Connecticut and enjoyed a long and successful career as a painter.

The following biography is provided by Joe L Dolice, son of the artist: Leon Dolice was born in Vienna on August 14, 1892. Dolice spent most of his late teens and early twenties traveling through the capital cities of Europe studying the works of the Masters. He came to America in 1920 and devoted all his time to chronicling the architecture, back streets, dock scenes and other nostalgia that was fast disappearing from the face of Manhattan, mainly in copperplate etchings. His subject matter was almost exclusively New York City street scenes and or other New York City landmarks that were then threatened with extinction. Dolice's works are in a number of notable museums and private collections.
(1883 - 1972) Johann Henrik Carl Berthelsen was an American Impressionist painter, as well as having a career as a professional singer and voice teacher. Essentially self-taught as an artist, he is best known for his poetic paintings of New York City, often in snow.
